The ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification provides essential testing knowledge that can be put to practical use and, very importantly, explains the terminology and concepts that are used worldwide in the testing domain. CTFL is relevant across software delivery approaches and practices including Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery. CTFL certification is recognized as a prerequisite to all other ISTQB® certifications where Foundation Level is required.

The ISTQB® Foundation Level Agile Tester (CTFL-AT) certification provides the key testing skills necessary to successfully contribute to an Agile project. CTFL-AT covers agile testing in alignment with the principles of agile software development as outlined in the Agile Manifesto. A tester on an Agile project will work differently than one working on a traditional project. Testers must understand the values and principles that underpin Agile projects, and how testers are an integral part of a whole-team approach together with developers and business representatives.

What we learn…

In a virtual classroom, just as in a traditional classroom, a lecturer and a group of students come together, usually with different levels of knowledge.

These situations present a difficult situation for instructors in a traditional classroom: Either they repeat material and thus help to fill the gaps in the group’s knowledge, but lose time in doing so. The other option is to continue with new material and risk not being sufficiently understood by part of the group.

Kanban is a popular method in lean workflow management to define, manage and improve deliverables that deliver knowledge work. It helps visualize work, optimize efficiency and enable continuous improvement. Work is represented using Kanban boards.
